With A4, the investigation turned towards intimacy and restraint. The cultural and industrial resonance of the A4 designation became a conceptual point of departure, framing each work within a universally recognised and carefully prescribed format. Within these fixed boundaries, the dialogue between gesture, surface and material became more acute.

Marks grew more concentrated, more deliberate and more responsive to the subtle textures and histories embedded within everyday materials. Limitation became a catalyst for discovery, directing attention towards nuances that might otherwise remain overlooked. Rather than signalling a reduction in scale or ambition, A4 represented a refinement of attention, where small shifts, incidental traces and material encounters assumed greater significance.
