London-Born Digital Fine Artist Inspired by Surface and Light
Jon is a UK digital fine artist who explores memory, place and transformation through a hybrid process that combines iPhone image-making with traditional artistic methods.
Born and raised in London and now based in Devon, he draws inspiration from both urban and rural environments. He investigates the traces that time, weather, movement and human presence leave behind, treating surfaces as repositories of memory and experience. Through layering, refinement and intervention, he transforms images beyond documentation into works that occupy a space between observation and abstraction.
Working intuitively, he captures fleeting moments, textures and encounters using an iPhone. He then reworks colour, light and accumulated marks into evolving compositions. The digital medium provides the foundation for a practice informed by painting, printmaking and the archaeology of surfaces.
He holds a BA (Hons) Fine Art and an MA Fine Art from Bretton Hall College, University of Leeds. His work is held in private collections and is available as museum-quality giclée editions.
